COVID-19 Information

The DOC Safe Start plan takes a more cautious and slower approach than the general Washington State reopening plans, and its policy requires that our boarding and grooming facilities remain closed until all DOC facilities can safely move into Step 3.

For more info, please visit the DOC’s Safe Start site.

Note: Our offices are closed. Staff are currently working remotely. Please follow this page and our social media for updates.

Service Dog Program

We are no longer accepting new service dog applications. While we are still training dogs for future service dog placements, we are focused on best serving our current waitlist which is quite long. We hope to reopen applications in 2022. Thank you for understanding.

Boarding & Grooming

Our public Boarding and Grooming facility will remain closed until further notice. We do not expect to reopen until late 2021 at the earliest. We are not taking any reservations or processing new pets, as our office is CLOSED.

For tips on finding another kennel, please visit our Boarding and Grooming page.

Volunteers

All volunteer programming is suspended. Current Red Badge volunteers are not allowed within the facility until further notice, per WA Department of Corrections.

New volunteer applications are on hold and will not be processed until further notice and guidance from the Department of Corrections.

Contact

Staff are working remotely until further notice. To reach a Prison Pet Partnership staff member, please email us at info@prisonpetpartnership.org and your message will be forwarded to the appropriate department. Our phone messages are only checked periodically. We appreciate your patience!
