Prison Pet Partnership is a non-profit organization located on the grounds of the Washington Corrections Center for Women in Gig Harbor. We rescue and train homeless animals to provide service dogs for persons with disabilities and operate a boarding and grooming facility to provide vocational education for women inmates. Our program benefits all involved — the animals who are given the chance to lead lives of service, the inmates who learn valuable skills so they may find gainful employment upon release, and the individuals with disabilities who receive well-trained dogs to help increase their level of independence.

If you would like to help, please consider becoming a volunteer, making a donation, or adopting one of our Paroled Pets.

Caitlin

Welcome Cait Nold to Prison Pet Partnership!

Our newest staff member has just started her exciting job as Dog Training Program Assistant. She comes to us with a background in Law, Societies, and Justice, and program experience at Monroe Correctional Complex. Cait is also a professional dog trainer, and volunteer for several non-profits. At Prison Pet Partnership, she will focus on advancing our ‘Paroled Pets’ program, bringing new homeless pups on board and finding the right families for them.

Kennel tours are conducted on the third Wednesday of each month from 10:00 am to noon. If you cannot make a tour date, this will give you an idea of what boarding, grooming, and a day in the life is like for your pet while visiting us. Take a peek!
